The Process
An invitation into the space between first marks and finished work,
where a painting takes form over time.
Each work begins long before paint meets the canvas
My artistic process embraces a comprehensive range of traditional and contemporary compositional, preparatory, and production methodologies tailored to the unique requirements of each work.
The spiritual foundation of this work draws deeply from Catholic contemplative traditions. Artistic vision and thematic development emerge through prayer, meditation, visio divina, Eucharistic adoration, and ongoing consultation with Catholic priests, theologians, and scholars. This practice of seeking divine inspiration through traditional devotional methods informs both subject matter and creative direction. I am profoundly grateful for the guidance, wisdom, and blessings provided by these spiritual mentors whose insights shape and elevate this work.

Original oil paintings
All finished works are executed as original oil paintings employing traditional application techniques including multi-layer glazing, impasto application, alla prima wet-on-wet methods, scumbling, dry brush techniques, and classical color mixing and application principles. Each piece represents unique hand-painted execution regardless of preparatory methodology. (Example shown to the left.)
