HOPE FOR TEXAS

Artist Statement
"The devastating floods in Texas pierced my heart and carried me into the depths of collective grief. As I witnessed the unimaginable tragedy unfold, I felt the waters washing over me too—not physically, but spiritually. I was swept into the heart of Texas, into the pain of strangers who had suddenly become family through shared humanity.
In the face of such overwhelming catastrophe, I found myself asking: What can I possibly do? In prayer and contemplation, I sought guidance on how to transform helplessness into solidarity, how to channel collective anguish into something that might offer comfort or connection.
Billboards emerged as my answer—vast canvases that could reach beyond gallery walls to meet people in their everyday journeys. These works attempt to make visible the invisible reality that surrounds us all: we are never alone in our struggles. Even in the darkest waters, there are angels among us, guiding us home.
This body of work is my prayer made manifest, my offering of solidarity not just with the victims of this particular tragedy, but with all who find themselves drowning in life's unexpected storms. The billboard format itself becomes metaphor—messages of comfort and connection displayed at the scale of our grief, creating a community of witness and care that spans the distance between artist and audience."
